The remarkable journey of Tirupathi Hydrocarbon Private Limited, a journey that resonates deeply with his own life's trajectory.
Born in 1949 in Rairangpur, Odisha, he spent his early childhood surrounded by the bustle of his older brother's store. From early mornings before school to late nights after classes, he was instilled with the fundamentals of commerce at a young age. His shelter for education was Kolkata, where he studied for his B.COM and LLB degrees and laid the groundwork for a future in business and innovation. When his elder brother started a match factory in Odisha in 1971, the seeds of Tirupathi Hydrocarbon were planted. He was essential because, while residing in Kolkata, he provided raw resources. A new chapter began in 1972 when he identified a chance to offer wax to Bangladesh and Nepal companies. Consequently, the wax trading business took its initial steps when he visited Nepal and started trading.
His exploration of Sivakasi, the centre of India's matchstick and fireworks manufacture, in 1983 signalled a sea change. Concentrating only on wax, he began selling from Kolkata and finally opened an office there. His path took him to Bangalore in 1990, when a more thorough analysis of the dynamics of the market revealed a sharp increase in the demand for wax. His resolute nature and the encouragement of a close friend, Chandubhai, enabled him to bounce back from 1993 setbacks. He changed his business to provide wax for silk saree printing in response to market demands, progressively adding gum, zinc dust, and other products to his lineup. The 1993 setback served as a springboard for the construction of Sivakasi offices and a factory. Mr Anupam Agarwal and Mr Anurag Agarwal became involved in imports, imported raw materials were processed into wax and wax oil. After realising the value of wax oil in the production of filler, the company continued to grow, and in 2014 they opened a new plant in Hosur.
Tirupathi Hydrocarbon has become a prominent participant in the wax and filler manufacturing business under his leadership, following years of devoted training in trading and manufacture.
